Yesterday, my little baby turned one. I still haven't quite got my head around this And might never do), but the good news is that the birthday boy had a good day. He got some lovely presents, including a talking Mr Tumble (he is partial to a bit of tumble) and some stacking rings. Once we cleared up the knot wrap and paper mess, he started his aquarium adventure.
We thought this would be something that he would like and they do a lot for ocean conservation, which is would be lovely for him to understand as he gets older. We weren't wrong and he seemed to really enjoy it, only fussing when he wanted to get out of the pram and walk to the fish. He insisted on walking through the kiddy tunnel, as you can see below, with hilarious consequences for my husband. I didn't take my proper camera with me and wish I had, as my phone camera didn't do a great job as you can see in this terrible example of a photo below.
We also took him to Heaton Park for a little while, mostly as we were hoping he would nap on the way round, but no such luck. On the plus side, he got to see the animals, which we missed out on last time we went as the area was closed. He is definitely an outdoor baby and enjoyed the walk through the park, which was bustling with it being half term - but he didn't seem to mind.
After his park and aquarium adventures, Bobby got to spend some time with both sets of grandparents. Getting his own little sit in plane and a noisy book. He got several musical books - the noisier the better is the rule he follows.
The day finished with his first birthday cake, a very happy (or shocked) looking ladybird. He got a eat a little, as he doesn't have much sugar, so this one was mainly for the benefit of the cake loving adults but I am sure he will have many more birthday cakes to enjoy in future. So, until next year when I inevitably won't be able to accept that he is turning two.... Happy Birthday Bobby! We hope you had a great day!
